It's election time again, and I'm here to encourage every single one of you to get out and vote (if you aren't one of the almost 100 million people that already have.)
Sometimes we take the power given to us for granted, or we feel like our vote doesn't matter. It absolutely does matter! There have been more than a dozen local elections that were decided by just one single vote in the last 20 years.
Let's not get in the mindset that we only need to vote once every four years. Sure, voting for the top office is important, but some of the positions we elect that touch our lives the most are local.
If you haven't voted yet, get together a plan. Look up your polling place. Know the hours. Realize that lines might be long, and prepare. And then vote! Let's see your "I voted" stickers!
